How do I make a blog post from a gallery?

Arrange a gallery's photos in rows yourself, or let the writer choose and arrange them; add your words, and publish where search engines can find it.

Make a post

  1. Open Blog in the sidebar, under Your brand look, and press New post.

  2. Choose the gallery its photos come from. The post starts with the gallery's highlights, or its first 24 photos, in rows by their shapes.

  3. Choose a layout: Journal, Magazine, Edge to edge or Column. Each shows your own photos, and you can change it later.

  4. Press Make the post. It opens as a draft that only you can see, on 1 · Arrange.

Arrange the photos

On 1 · Arrange, the gallery's photos are on the left and the post on the right. Photos stand in rows: one to four side by side at one height, each as wide as its shape asks. Everything saves itself.

  1. Drag a photo from the left between two rows of the post to give it a row of its own, or onto the left or right half of a photo in the post to set it beside that one. Pressing a photo on the left adds it at the end.

  2. Photos in the post move the same way. Drag one back to the left, or press its ✕, to take it out; it stays in the gallery.

  3. Add words adds words at the end; move words and rows up or down with the arrows.

  4. Or let the writer do it: under Arrange it for me, choose about how many photos and press Arrange. It looks through the gallery and builds the post from its strongest photos, in the day's order: the place first on its own, wide and close photos, faces in pairs, details side by side. Your words keep their places. It takes an AI credit for each 30 photos it looks at, and none for photos it has looked at before.

Words

On 2 · Words and publishing, the post shows beside the editor as visitors will see it, on a Computer or a Phone.

  1. Write the Title and the line Under the title: a place, a kind of day. Language is what the writer and the words for search engines write in.

  2. Under Write it for me, answer a few questions about the day in your own words — what moved you, something sweet or funny, the place, the light (More questions has the rest) — as many as you like, choose a Tone (Simple, Warm, Storyteller, Poetic or Reflective) and press Write it. The writer turns your answers into the post's title, words and what search engines show, with the gallery's place, date, your keywords and every vendor from the gallery's Vendors. It doesn't make up what it isn't told. Your answers stay, to write it again. A draft takes one AI credit.

  3. Thank the vendors at the end adds the vendors with their Instagram under the post.

Photos in search engines

Each photo can carry the words search engines read (its alt text, also read out to people who can't see it): what it shows and where, then your name and one of your keywords — “Happy bride posing with her bouquet in front of Villa Sassi, Turin | Your name, Turin wedding photographer”. The writer looks at each photo; it's told the kind of day, the venue and the place, never names.

  1. When your photos are where you want them, tick Write them for me. Every photo gets its words, and photos you add later too. Ten photos take one AI credit; photos the writer looked at when it arranged the post cost nothing.

  2. Under Search engines, Keywords are what people search for, separated by commas. Left empty, they're made from the gallery's place, venue and kind of day. Each photo's words end with them in turn; change them, and the endings follow.

  3. Press a photo's Alt to read or change its Words for search engines, and add a Caption if you like. What you change stays. Write them all again starts over, after changing the post's language for instance.

  4. The words become each photo's description on your blog and in the copy for your website, and its file name: “happy-bride-posing-with-her-bouquet-in-front-of-villa-sassi.jpg” rather than a number.

Publish

  1. Publish puts the post on your blog, at heirloomfolio.com/your-link/blog. View ↗ opens it, and Take down makes it a draft again.

  2. Under Layout, Open photos large when tapped lets visitors go through the photos one by one, with the arrows or a swipe; untick it to keep them as they are.

  3. Under Search engines: your keywords, a title and a description for search results (left empty, the post's own are used) and the post's Link.

On your own website

Your posts can show on your own website as well, always up to date. Search engines count the words of a post to the website whose page they're in.

  1. Under Blog › On your website, Copy the code and put it where your blog should be, in an HTML or code block (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Tilda…). It shows your published posts as a list, each opening on the same page with its own title for search engines; new posts and every change show there by themselves. Search engines read posts shown this way too, though not as quickly as words written into the page.

  2. A website made with an AI like Lovable: Copy for the AI and give the words to it. It builds a blog that draws your posts on the website's own server, so search engines find them in the page itself — the best for being found — and they stay up to date too.

  3. Then write A post's address on your site, with {post} where a post's link goes (https://yourwebsite.com/blog/{post}, or …/blog?post={post} with the code). Search engines are sent there from your posts here, so they count to your website.

  4. Or one post at a time: Copy for your website in a post copies it as HTML, in the same layout and your typefaces (or your website's, with My website's typefaces), with no script; after a change, copy it again. Its address on your website does for that post what the address above does for all.

Views

A published post shows its views under 2 · Words and publishing › Views: the last 30 days day by day, in all, and where — your blog or each of your websites. The list of posts shows each one's views of the last 30 days. Robots aren't counted, and nothing about the people who look is kept.

Why isn’t it working?

Write it for me says it isn't set up yet
Writing help isn't switched on yet. Until it is, arrange the photos and write the words yourself; everything else works.
It says I've used this month's AI credits
They come back on the 1st of next month, and photos still without words get them then, the next time you open the post. Until then, arrange and write it yourself, or choose a plan with more under Plan & storage › Plans.
A photo won't go beside another
A row holds four photos at most. Drop it between rows to give it a row of its own, or take one out of the row first.
A photo is missing from the post
It was hidden or deleted in the gallery. Posts show only the photos clients can see.
