How do I ask the couple to choose photos?

Ask for, say, 60 photos for their album by a date. They tick them in the gallery and send you their selection, with the file names ready for Lightroom.

Ask them

  1. Open the gallery's Activity tab and press Ask the couple to choose.

  2. Under What it's for, write what follows “your”: album, prints or parents' album.

  3. Under How many, pick Exactly, Between or No limit, and type the numbers.

  4. Under By when, pick the day and the time.

  5. Write A message if you like (up to 600 characters). It shows with the request in the gallery and in the email.

  6. Leave Email the couple now ticked to send them your Choose your photos email, and press Ask them. The line under the form shows what the couple will see.

While they choose

  • Above the photos, the couple see a quiet line such as “Choose 60 photos for your album · by 20 October”, with your message and Start choosing.
  • They tick photos with ✓, in the gallery or with a photo open, and a bar at the bottom counts them: “12 of 60 chosen”. Both of them can choose, each on their own phone, into the same selection.
  • Selection in Activity shows how many they've chosen so far, and who.
  • Remind them sends your Reminder to choose email now. Change… changes what you asked, Close stops the choosing and keeps what they chose, and Delete… removes it.

When they send it

  • Send my selection works once they're within your numbers, and asks them first. You get your Selection sent email: “Emma & Luca sent their selection: 60 photos”.
  • Selection shows when they sent it, who, how many, and the photos in the gallery's order.
  • Copy file names for Lightroom copies their file names, separated by commas. Download as CSV saves a spreadsheet with each photo's file name, section, who chose it and when.
  • Their choice then stays as it is. Reopen lets them change it and send it again; Close moves it to Earlier, where its file names stay.
